Mentality Electrify

It's Blue Monday and I'll show you Mentality Electrify. I know I show a lot of polishes from Mentality right n ow, but last week I finally recieved the Neon Jelly Holo Collection after my parcel had gone missing and I just can't wait to show them to you.

Electrify is a neon sky blue with a subtle holo effect. It's gorgeous! It's bright and vibrant and so pretty. As with the other colours in thi collection the holo doesn't create rainbows. It adds depth and sparkle to do the polish instead. I really like the subtle holo. It doesn't always have to be that kind of in-your-face type of holo to be pretty.

The pictures are take in direct sunlight.

The formula is good. Three coats give full coverage. The first coat's streaky and patchy but the second and third coat even it out. Let each coat dry for a minute or to before continuing with the next, that way you'll avoid some of the streakiness. The finish becomes semi-matte so top coat is must.

What you see in the pictures are three coats of Mentality Electrify and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Mentality Drama

Hello darlings!

Today I'll show you Mentality Drama.

Drama is a red toned coral neon with a subtle holographic effect. It's reall pretty and the colour is perfect for summer. I love to wear corals during the summer. I'm extremely pale but in the summer I do get a slight tan. Corals look great then and make my skin look even more tan.
The holo is very subtle. It adds shimmer, sparkle and depth but doesn't create rainbows. It just makes the polish prettier.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is good. Three coats give full coverage. The first coat is rather patchy ad streaky but the second and third coat even it out. It dries quickly and to a semi matte finish. Top coat makes the finish shiny.

Matte Dotticure

A few weeks ago I did a really colourful dotticure. I usually do dotticures that have a white or more neutral base, or colours that don't clash together like a dark blue base with lighter blue dots. This time I wanted to do something really colourful, with dots in different sizes and on a base that doesn't really match but still looks great under the dots. I'm happy with the result. I'd definitely do this type of dotticure again.

The polishes I've used are Barry M Grapefruit, Picture Polish Chillax and Picture Polish Swagger. I used Grapefruit as my base and I used Chillax and Swagger for the dots. I did the dots with the help of a dotting tool.
It was pretty shiny but I used Pretty Serious Matte All the Things! to matte it. I really like matte nail art. Somehow it brings the patterns out more.

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight.

Mentality Shake

Hi sweeties!

Today I'll show you Mentality Shake

Shake is neon tangerine orange with a subtle holo effect. The colour is gorgeous. It didn't look great in the bottle but is so pretty on the nails. Never judge a polish by its bottle.
The holo is very subtle. It doesn't create rainbows but it gives a nice shimmer and adds depth to the finish.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula was alright. It's quite streaky. I needed three coats for full coverage. Their rat two coats were very patchy but the third, thicker coat, evened it out. I recommend thaty pu wait a few minutes between the coats, that'll avoid it to becomes too patchy.
It dries quickly and the finish becomes semi-matte. Top coat is must if you want it really shiny.
What you see in the pictures are three coats of Mentality Shake and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Saran Wrap Nails

I did some nail art today and I'm super happy with the result! I did saran wrap nails since I wanted to do something easy but still exsiting. I've completely forgotten about how incredibly beautiful saran wrap nails can be!

The polishes I've used are China Glaze Highlight of My Summer, China Glaze Boho Blues, Glam Polish Anuenue and Mentality Black Opaque. I used Highlight of My Summer as the base and then used Boho Blues and the saran wrap technique to do the pattern. I finished the mani off with Glam Polish Anuenue, because Anuenue makes every mani better!
I couldn't let the mani be and had to stamp it. I used a pattern from MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 05. The end result with the stamping is a little mermaid-esque and I love it!

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight. The picture of the stamped mani is taken in direct sunlight. Blogger is making my pictures blurry when I upload them. It's getting really frustrating. I'm thinking about changing to another blog platform but I haven't decided yet.

Glam Polish The Sweets Duo Part 2: Berry Parfait

Hi sweeties!
Today I'll show you the other part of the MeiMei's Signatures exclusive Glam Polish The Sweets Duo Part 2.
This is Glam Polish Berry Parfait.

Berry Parfait is a neon pink with silver, pink and blurple glass flecks. This one is awesome! It's that perfect Barbie neon pink that's super girly but still somehow a little edgy. I'm no huge fan of pinks but I love, love, love this one.

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight.  It's more neon  in real life, but that's the deal with neons. They're never as pretty in pictures as they are in real life.

The formula is great. It's a bit sheer but three thin coats give full coverage. It's much more self levelling and less patch than Lemon Meringue. I would still recommend that you wait a minute or two between the coats. It dries quickly and the finish becomes rather shiny.

What you see in the pictures are three coats of Glam Polish Berry Parfait and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Cupcake Polish Deck the Malls

It's Green Wednesday today so, of course, I have to show you a green polish as well today. Two posts in one day, whoa, being home sick can obviously be productive.

This is Cupcake Polish Deck the Malls. Who's to say you can't show Christmas Polishes in June. After all, it's only six months left.

Deck the Malls is a vibrant green jelly packed with green prismatic micro glitter and black micro glitter. It's gorgeous. I love this shade of green. It's very festive but works all year around. Even now, in the midst of summer. The black micro glitter makes this polish more interesting and makes it stand out from similiar greens.

The pictures are taken in direct sunlight.

The formula is great. Two coats give full coverage. It dries very quickly. The finish becomes semi matte and it dries a little textured so you need top coat to make the finish smooth and shiny.

What you see in th pictures are two coats of Cupcake Polish Deck the Malls, one coat of Pretty Serious Aqua Coat and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish The Sweets Duo Part 2: Lemon Meringue

Hi guys!
I have a bad cold so I'm home from work today. That gave me time to write a few blog post for the upcoming week.

Today I'll show you Glam Polish Lemon Meringue from the MeiMei's Signatures exclusive The Sweets Duo Part 2.

Lemon Meringue is a lemon yellow neon with yellow, silver and green glass flecks.  It's almost highlighter yellow. It's so fun and pretty. Perfect for summer! It has green undertones which makes it even more neon. This isn't perfect for my skin tone but it works.

The pictures are taken in indirect sunlight. Neons are incredibly hard to photograph and that goes for this one as well. It's brighter in real life and a the shimmer is more prominent.

The formula is alright. It's probably as good as it gets when it comes to yellow and neon. I needed three coats for full coverage. It was quite patchy at the second coat but the third coat evened it out. I recommend that you wait at least three minutes between the coats. That makes the finish less patchy.
It dries rather quickly and the finish becomes quite shiny.

What you see in the pictures are three coats of Glam Polish Lemon Meringue and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish Princess Parking Only

Hi sweeties! I've started my new job and I've been really busy. I've scheduled a few post for you now but I won't be able to post as frequently the coming ten weeks.
Today I'll show you Glam Polish Princess Parking Only, a meimei's signatures exclusive.

Princess Parking Only is a hot pink, almost metallic, holo. I love the colour. The finish is nice but I don't love it. It's a bit too metallic but I still like it.

I love these type of pinks. I'm not to fond of soft pinks but this bright almost neon pink shade is gorgeous.

The formula is great. Two coats give full coverage. The finish becomes shiny and TC won't affect the holo effect.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of Glam Polish Princess Parking Only and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Polish Revolution The Sea Was Boiling Hot

 Hi darlings!

Today I'll show you Polish Revolution The Sea was Boiling Hot.

The Sea was Boiling Hot is a glitter topper with silver, lilac and pale blue glitter. I layered it over OPI Cement the Deal, a grey creme. I think the grey base brought out the silver glitter a lot more but the lilac and blue glitters still pop. I really like this. I can't believe I haven't wor it before. It's been in my collection for a year or two now.

The formula is good. The glitter dispersal i great and one coat is enough when you layer it over another colour. I think this would look great over black.

What you see in the pictures are two coats of OPI Cement the Deal, one coat of Polish Revolution The Sea Was Boiling Hot and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.
