Glam Polish Gruesome Movie Duo

Happy Halloween!

Today I have the Glam Polish Gruesome Movie Duo to show you. It's perfect to show you today since it's both Halloween and Holo Firday. This duo was sold exlusively at Mei Mei's Signatures. It was only sold in 60 numbered sets and the duo even made the site crash. I wasn't lucky enough to score this duo when it was sold at Mei Mei's but the lovely bookpolish sold her set to me. The duo consists of Tales from the Darkside and Carrie. Let's start off with Tales from the Darkside.

Tales from the Darkside is a purple holographic polish with purple and fuchsia glass flecks. It's stunning! it's dark enough to fit Halloween but bright enough to be worn anytime. The glass flecks give it a beautiful glow and add lots and lots of depth. They are, of course, most prominent in the shadow.
The fomrula is flawless. It's super smooth and easy to apply. Two coats gave full coverage but you can get away with just one. The finish become shiny and smooth.

Carrie is a blood red holographic polish with crimson and golden glass flecks. It's absolutely gorgeous! This is my favourite of the two. The glass flecks give the polish an amazing glow. It's so vibrant and very vampy. This polish is perfection. This is actually my Halloween mani. I just can't resist a good red. I also happen to love Stephen King's novel Carrie.
The formula on this was, just as with Tales from the Darkside, is flawless. Two coats gave full coverage. I think you could get away with one thicker coat but usually two thin coats give more depth. This polish is top coat hungry though, so two coats is a must.

This set is no longer available but if you're lucky, like I was you, a lovely person might sell it to you. Both of these polishes are gorgeous and they have a precious place in my Helmer. Carrie is my favourite of the two but Tales from the Darkside is one of the prettiest purples I've ever seen. Which one is your favourite or do you love them both equally? If you feel the need to get your hands on another Glam Polish Halloween duo Mei Mei's Signatures still has another duo for sale called Dark Terror. I will post my review of that duo on Sunday.

What's In-Die Box October 2014: Holo-ween!

Hi darlings!

Last week I recieved the the What's In-Die Box? for october. This month was an all holo box with the theme Holo-ween.
The What's In-Die Box? is an all indie box ith five surpise polishes from five different indie makers. You have no idea what the polishes look like when you order the box but five inspiration pictures are released, so you'll get a clue about the colour scheme.  Here you can see all the inspiration pictures for October.

This post will be picture heavy, because I'll show you all five polishes today. Since it's halloween and all tomorrow. I'd thought it'd be fitting. The polishes will be shown in no particular order.

Th first polish up is Lilypad Lacquer Skulloween.  Skulloween is a pumpkin orange holographic polish with tiny, tiny black shimmer than can barely be seen but adds depth. It's gorgeous and the colour looks amazing!
The formula was good. Two coats gave full coverage and it dried fast to a shiny finish.

Moving on! The next polish is Emily de Molly Night Terrors. Night Terrors is a midnight blue holographic polish with bue and purple shimmer. It has a grey-ish sort of blue tone in the shadow and a brighter navy blue in the sun. It' dark, it's beautiful and completely spellbinding. The formula was good. Two coats gave full coverage and the finish becomes shiny.

The next polish is the brightest of the bunch, Peita's Polish Ghost Gutz. Ghost Gutz is a bright, almmost neon, mint green holo. This is the least holographic of the five. The holo effect is scattered but it adds depth and sparkle. It's pretty and I really like the colour.
The formula was good. It's the type of colour that could go on streaky but it doesn't. Two coats gave full coverage and the finish becomes semi-matte.

The next polish is Glam Polish Paranormal. Paranormal is a teal holographic polish. The colour wa crazy ard to capture. It leans more blue in my pictures than in real life. This is my favourite of the five polishes. Teal and holo is always a smashing combination. This is gorgeous!
The formula is very good. Two coats gave full coverage and the finish becomes shiny.

The llast polish in the box is PrettyPots Polish Bewitchery. Bewitchery is a purple with a strong holographic effect. The colour is beautiful! I love it.
The formula n the other hand left lots to wish for. It was easy to apply but required four coats for full opacity. So I was a bit disappointed in that. The finish becomes very shiny.

I really, really liked this month's box. I love that it was an all holo box and that it was a Halloween box! Which one of the five polishes is your favourite?

I think that the What's In-die Box? is the best indie polish box other there. I just love the concept of a new theme every month and the fact that what the polishes will look like is a surprise. This wasn't my last box and it's definitely not my last. November's box has the theme Pokémon, and who could resist that?

Enchanted Polish May 2014

Hey guys! It's soon Halloween and I still haven't showed you a proper orange. I think it's time to change that! Today I'll show you Enchanted Polish May 2014.

May 2014 is a coppery orange holographic. It's beautiful! It has some golden undertones that I really like. I don't find this very unique though. I have a few orange holos and most of them are very similar to this one. I do like it but the fact is that I'm a bit disappointed in this polish. Yes, it's beautiful but I usually find Enchanted Polish to be much more special. It's perfect for Halloween though!

The formula was alright. A bit thick. Two coats gave full coverage. The polish dried quickly and the finish became smoth and shiny.
What you see in the pictues are two coats of Enchanted Polish May 2014 and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

Glam Polish Deathly Holo

Hey guys!
It's Holo Friday today! Since it's soon Halloween I'd like to show you a lovely Halloween polish. This is Glam Polish Deathly Holo.

Deathly Holo is a blackened eggplant purple with iridescent glass flecks. It's stunning! I really like the glass flecks which are more prominent in the shadow. So the polish is never boring. I find that some holos are a bit grey-ish in the shadow but when glass flecks or other types of shimmer are added the polish is gorgeous all the time. The glass flecks also add a lot of depth. Another amazing Glam.

The only down side to this polish is that it was a limited edition exclusive for MeiMei's Signatures. Only 30 bottles were made and all of them are numbered. This bottle is number 14.

The holo is stronger in real life than in my pictures.I think my camera freaked out a bit by all the sparkle.

The formula was good. Two coats gave full coverage and the polish dried quickly. The finish becomes semi-matte so top coat is needed.
What you see in the pictures are two coats of Glam Polish Deathly Holo and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

United in Pink: Lilypad Lacquer Ruby Slippers

United in Pink. Today I have Lilypad Lacquer Ruby Slippers to show you. I've actually shown this one before. You can find that post here.

Ruby Slippers is a pink with red undertones, almost cherry red, holographic polish. I love the colour! This is one of the earlier Lilypads that changed a lot with differen batches. There are versins that are much more pink and versions that are more red. I love the batch my bbottle came from though. It's a gorgeous polish. The pictures are taken in direct sunlight and the holographic efect is much stronger in real life. This is polish is always holographic, always! Even when it's cloudy outside the holo is still visible.

The formula is good. It's actually a bit sheer. I needed three coats to get it completely opaque on my nails. It dries quickly and the finish becomes shiny. Top coat doesn't dull the holo effect.
What you see in the pictures are three coats of Lilypad Lacquer Ruby Slippers and one coat of Pretty Serious Crystal Coat.

United in Pink: Pink Roses

Hello darlings!

Monday marked the started of United in Pink, the pink theme week to raise breast cancer awareness. Today is also green wednesday so I decided to incrporate a little green in today's nail art.

I decided to use water decals. I love these water decals. They are so pretty. I put them on a white creme, OPI Alpine Snow, to really make them pop. For my index and pinky I used Barry M Grapefruit and some rhinestones from OPI.
I really love the result and I hope you'll like it too!
